Gastro tour - Piva and NP Durmitor

Description
Enter the gastronomic paradise of Montenegro through our exclusive gastronomic tour that combines incredible natural beauty with authentic flavors of local cuisine. We start the morning with a joint gathering with fragrant Turkish coffee or relaxing tea, followed by a light breakfast. With the presentation of the plan for the day ahead of us, we set off on a journey through the Beer Nature Park.
We will visit the authentic place Zvono, where we will try the drink of the old Slavs, traditionally prepared for the last 15 centuries, made by the Vuković family according to an old recipe for which they were awarded a gold medal. After that, we get into the reserved vehicles and head towards the wilds and beauties of the Piva Nature Park, passing over the turquoise blue Piva Lake and continuing the climb up the steep canyon above the lake. First, we pass through the village of Trsa on the Piva plateau, and then we enter a forest fairy tale where the beech forest meets the conifer forest, offering us wonderful scenes above the village of Milogora.

After leaving the forest, we reach the village of Nedajno, which many journalists describe as the most beautiful village in the summer period in the territory of Montenegro. Here we take our first break, enjoying a tasting of the local food priganica, cow's cheese, honey and apple brandy. We continue to the viewpoint above Sušice canyon, where we stop to capture some of the best photos of the day.
We leave the Piva Nature Park and enter the Durmitor National Park, descending into the Sušice canyon to the glacial phenomenon, the periodic Sušice lake that disappears in mid-summer. Here we take a short break to take pictures and enjoy. We continue climbing up the canyon to the village of Mala Crne Gora, which is inaccessible from December to May, located at 1500m above sea level, where frost and snow rule during the winter months. After Little Montenegro, we head towards Veliki Štuoc mountain, from where there is a panoramic view of Durmitor National Park and the Tara canyon.
We descend towards Žabljak and visit the hidden pearl, Black Lake, one of the 18 glacial lakes of Durmitor. There we take a break with a leisurely tour of the lake and a walk through the pine forest. After the lake, we have lunch in a restaurant and leave room for further gastronomic specialties. After lunch, there will be a tasting of some of the most famous wines produced on the territory of Montenegro. We visit another one of Durmitor's glacial lakes, Vražje jezero, known for its mysticism and the legends surrounding it. We leave the territory of the municipality of Žabljak and start driving through the most famous area of the National Park, passing by the mountains Šljema, Sedla, Prutaš, and take a break at the foot of Prutaš, where a herd of wild horses stays during the summer. Leaving Prutaš, we leave the territory of the National Park and re-enter the Piva Nature Park.
The road leads us to the village of Pišče, which is located on the plateau of the Pivska Planina. With a break in the village of Pišče, we have the opportunity to taste dairy products from this region in combination with cured meat products from local producers. Passing by the cultural heritage "Stećak" which is under the protection of UNESCO, we continue our way to the other part of the mountain. In the villages of Seljkovac, Borkovići and Dubljevići, we reveal to you the traditional life of the local population, and we also take a break at the viewpoint admiring the meanders of Lake Piva. We descend through the canyon to the Piva Lake and continue to the village of Rudinice, where we have lunch in the ethnic village, trying two of the most famous traditional dishes from Montenegro, cicvara and kačamak.
A visit to the Piva Monastery provides a unique opportunity to explore the exceptional church architecture from the 16th century, which includes recognizable fresco painting and iconostasis. Located in a natural environment along the shore of Lake Piva, the monastery is an exceptional monument of the Orthodox religious and cultural heritage of Montenegro. We return to Montenegro, where we have a dinner of your choice and a drink tasting.
